Consider a Bamboo Room in Your Home
Thumb through the dozens of home decorating books in your local library and you'll find plenty of ideas on how to decorate a room. Many of these
books will suggest decorating a room using conventional decorative pieces such as glass, crystals, plush cushions, wooden furniture, valance and
such. Not many, though, would suggest a bamboo room.
Bamboo is one of the most sturdy and durable materials around. When you choose to use bamboo furniture to furnish a room, you are assured of
it lasting many years. If you have an adventurous spirit or you have an affinity with nature, nothing can be more perfect than using bamboo to
give a room an exotic yet elegant look.
There are many kinds of bamboo furniture and decorative pieces available in the market. There are bamboo sofas, beds made of bamboo, bamboo
chairs and tables, bamboo blinds and window shades, lamp shades made of bamboo slats and many more. The variety literally gives you unlimited
possibilities for transforming even the plainest room into a visually striking one.
With the right bamboo furniture, you can transform an ordinary-looking living room into one that will always put a look of awe on your guests'
faces. For instance, place a bamboo sofa and love seat together that they form an L shape. Lamps with posts and shades that are made of bamboo,
when placed strategically in the room, become attractive accent pieces. For a comfy and inviting look, place decorative plush pillows on the
bamboo sofa or love seat. Complete the look by decorating the walls with photos or paintings in bamboo frames.
Be careful not to get carried away with the bamboo furniture and pieces, though. Too much of anything can get a bit tiring if not tacky. The
same goes when you're furnishing your room with bamboo furniture and decorating it with bamboo pieces. Make sure the bamboo pieces complement
each other as well as contribute to the overall beauty of the room.
